  • Park your car on level ground and put on the handbrake

  • Switch the engine off and wait a few minutes until the oil has drained back into the oil pan
  • Remove the dipstick and wipe it clean with a dry cloth then re-insert it fully
  • Remove the dipstick again and check the oil level. It should be between the "H" and "L" marks. If the oil is below the "L" mark, remove the oil filler cap and pour recommended oil through the opening. But be careful not to overfill or you'll be burning it off. This will result in unwanted exhaust smoke or blow an oil seal
  • Recheck the oil level with your dipstick
