Making a car insurance claim - getting your car repaired following a non fault car accident
Hoot Car Insurance Services doesn’t just save you £££s on cheap car insurance, we can save you time and hassle by arranging for your vehicle to be repaired following a non fault accident.
All we need are the insurance details of the person responsible for the accident and provided their insurance company admits liability, we can arrange for your car to be repaired and the bill forwarded directly to the insurance company of the person who caused the accident. Even if you have comprehensive car insurance, we can still arrange repairs which means you don’t have to claim on your own insurance if you don’t want to, and therefore you don’t have to pay your policy excess.
What happens next?
Once you have given us details of the accident, we will contact the other person’s insurance company for an admission of liability (although this is not always necessary – a witness statement may be sufficient, or the accident circumstances may be clear cut).
We will then organise for an independent vehicle engineer to inspect your car and produce an estimate for repairs. As long as your car isn’t beyond economical repair (i.e. a write-off), your car can then be booked in for repair. Once your car has been repaired, the repair bill will be forwarded straight to the insurance company of the person who caused the accident, and you will pay nothing.
If your car is deemed a write-off by the vehicle engineer, a pre-accident value will be put on the car. Once you have agreed this figure, a cheque for this amount will be sent from the other person’s insurance company so you can then buy another car.

*A replacement car can usually be arranged under any of the following conditions:
1.Non fault accident – where we have the name, car registration number and insurance details of the person who caused the accident, we will supply a replacement car on a credit hire basis. This means the charges for this service will be passed onto the insurance company of the person who was responsible for the accident. This service may not be available where we are unable to get an admission of liability from their insurance company, or wherethe driver is unknown or uninsured.
2.If you have comprehensive insurance, a replacement car may be available under the terms of your insurance policy. Please check your policy details for more information.
3.The repairing garage may be able to provide a replacement car. This is subject to availability.
