21 day car insurance renewal removed

Renewing your car insurance is all too easily forgotten during the festive season as the celebrations of Christmas and New Year push tedious but necessary tasks to the wayside.

However, if your car insurance slips your mind this winter then you could be in financial trouble. The 21-day grace period that was in place last year meant that policy holders had extra time to find a new motor insurance policy or renew their policy after their old policy had expired, but, the 21-days grace is a privilege of the past.

Road accidents are more frequent during the winter and an increase in claims is likely. This means that adequate car insurance cover is a must have to avoid extra, unnecessary costs if you are unfortunate enough to be involved in a car accident. So, start the new year as you mean to go on and make sure that your car is insured.

*A replacement car can usually be arranged under any of the following conditions:

1.Non fault accident – where we have the name, car registration number and insurance details of the person who caused the accident, we will supply a replacement car on a credit hire basis. This means the charges for this service will be passed onto the insurance company of the person who was responsible for the accident. This service may not be available where we are unable to get an admission of liability from their insurance company, or wherethe driver is unknown or uninsured.

2.If you have comprehensive insurance, a replacement car may be available under the terms of your insurance policy. Please check your policy details for more information.

3.The repairing garage may be able to provide a replacement car. This is subject to availability.
