Car insurance warning for football fans
With only six months until the beginning of the football fest that is the World Cup, hundreds of thousands of England fans are already preparing to journey to Germany to support their heroes.
Airline tickets for the event long ago reached astronomical prices, and the majority of supporters have been left with no option but to take the ferry or travel through the Channel Tunnel. With so many people expected to converge on Germany ’06, car insurance companies are warning of the need for adequate cover.
Katie Lassetter, spokesperson for Hoot Car Insurance Services, specialists in young driver car insurance, said, “Be sure to check your policy before you leave. The last thing you want is to be stranded abroad with no means of getting home and lumbered with a wrecked vehicle and an expensive bill.”
The World Cup is not going to be in Europe again for at least another eight years, so much of the travelling contingent is expected to be made up of commitment-free twentysomethings, looking for a last free summer of football and fun before they finally have to settle down to a career, a marriage and all the other mundane things in life.
Many will cut short their break in Germany if England get knocked out early, and head off to the beaches on the way home for more fun and frolics in the sun.
Whatever happens on the football pitch this summer, there’s sure to be lots of Brits cruising the roads of Europe, and if you and your mates are going to be there too, do make sure that your car insurance covers you for all eventualities.
Make it be a summer to remember for the right reasons.
