It used to be the white van man that was the scourge of the nation's roads. Not anymore.
Because according to research by Churchill Car Insurance, it is now the white car man who is the biggest menace on four wheels.
The motor insurance firm's recent survey found that drivers of white cars are more prone to road rage than anyone else after more than four in ten admitted to regular aggressive driving, shouting and gesturing.
It was also discovered that there is a direct link between car colour and speed, with white car man driving faster than all other motorists. He was found to do an average of 12.7mph above the speed limit on motorways, thus regularly risking his right to a cheap car insurance deal.
Psychologist Donna Dawson gave an insight into white car man's attitude, saying, "Drivers of white cars tend to be status-seeking individuals.
"The white car owner is proclaiming his wealth by stating he can afford a colour which needs cleaning."
A spokesman from Hoot Car Insurance Services, the expert young driver car insurance providers, commented, "It looks like white car man might have to curb his wild ways a little or else he could see his cheap car insurance premium start to rocket."
