Compulsive drink-driver Malachy Delaney has been sent straight back to jail after allegedly re-offending within 11 days of his April release.
It is alleged that 21-year-old Delaney, originally sent down in August 2004 for causing death by dangerous driving, was caught back behind the wheel, drunk and without motor insurance, and was arrested within a month of his probation.
At Belfast Crown Court, the judge said he hoped Delaney would take advantage of any help offered him by the authorities during his forthcoming 18 months' imprisonment.
Delaney will need more help than any judge can give him, however, if he's to find a cheap car insurance quote when he gets out again.
