Kia Picanto named as the perfect car for young drivers

A survey undertaken by Parker’s Price Guide has identified the perfect car for young drivers - the Kia Picanto.

They found that the Picanto lost less value than any other car in the UK during 2005, with a year’s ownership costing, on average, just over a thousand pounds. Taking into consideration the car’s miniscule starting price of just £5,695, it really is the ideal first car.

It comes with a year’s free motor insurance as standard, and is only classed as insurance group three, meaning that young driver car insurance should be as cheap as chips.

Managing Director of Kia, Paul Williams, said, "The Picanto is our number one best-seller and it’s not hard to see why it retains so much of its value.

"It offers unrivalled specification wrapped up in stylish looks and is ideal for the first time buyer or as a second family run-around."

But the Kia Picanto wasn't the only car that came out well from Parker's depreciation survey, and closely behind it were the Mini Cooper, the Honda Jazz and the Audi A2. None of these cars, however, offer such great value and excellent opportunities for cheap car insurance as does the Kia Picanto.
