Lazy car thieves keep car insurance rates down

Car insurance companies claim that your car is now safer as car thieves are getting lazy.

A recent report states that thieves will only steal cars if it is made really simple for them. For example, they will only steal a car if someone has left the keys in the ignition or if it can be lifted onto the back of a truck with ease.

It seems that thieves think that modern security systems such as car alarms and immobilisers make it far too much hassle to steal and far too easy to get caught. This is great news for cheap car insurance providers as they will be able to keep their car insurance rates low and not have pay out millions of pounds to policy holders that have been victims of car crime.

A representative from Hoot Car Insurance Services, the young driver car insurance specialists, states: 'This is a fantastic result for motorists throughout Britain who will be at less risk of having their car stolen. It means that we can carry on providing cheap car insurance rates to all our customers and make driving more affordable for 18-35 year olds.'
