New research by Direct Line car insurance has found that the need for cheap young driver car insurance rates has reached an all time high.
More and more young drivers are taking to bundling all their friends into one car as they simply don't have the funds for pricey young driver car insurance premiums.
The car insurance provider revealed that up to 20,000 young people in the UK are sharing their cars with peers who can't afford their own cars. As many as 20% feel the pressure to pack their car with more people than is legal and safe and in some cases there are not enough seatbelts to go around.
More people crammed into small a car means more noise and greater distractions for young drivers when behind the wheel. Overfilling a car with passengers endangers lives; increasing the chances of having a vehicle accident which could result in people getting seriously injured or killed and further escalating young driver car insurance rates.
