Airline branches out into cheap car insurance

One of the country's top low-cost airlines has announced it is planning to begin offering cheap car insurance.

Ryanair, who fly tens of thousands of Brits abroad every year, have added the new product to their increasing range of services that already includes home insurance and travel insurance, and hope it will prove to be a hit among young drivers.

Young people are a particular target for Ryanair, and almost every flight is packed with young professionals taking advantage of cheap prices to spend a romantic weekend relaxing in Scandinavia or a couple of nights partying in the Balearics.

Hearing that Ryanair are planning to offer motor insurance, Johnny Brown, a twenty-something software developer from Buckinghamshire, told Hoot Car Insurance Services, the young driver car insurance experts, that he'd consider buying a policy from Ryanair.

He said, "I got a cheap flight to Stockholm and the whole thing was great; real value for money.

"If they're as good at cheap car insurance as they are at cheap flights, I'd definitely take a look at what they can offer me."
