14 years too young for car insurance, but it doesn't stop tot buying car

Shoppers in a recent eBay motors auction were disappointed to find they had been outbid at the last moment - by a 3-year-old.

Lincolnshire toddler Jack Neal, who won't be eligible even for young driver car insurance for another 14 years, snuck online while his mother's back was turned.

He used her account to make the winning £9,000 bid on a Barbie-pink Nissan Figaro.

The tot's dealings came as no surprise to his proud mum, Rachel, who said "Jack's a real whiz - he's been able to log on since he was two."It was left to Jack's dad, John, to try and explain why the family wouldn't be able to honour their winning bid to the seller.

The Neals only found out about Jack's purchase when they received an email congratulating them on the win.

"We couldn't understand," said Rachel afterward, "so we checked and saw it was a Barbie pink car which we'd bought for £8,999.99."

Mike Page, spokesperson for the young driver car insurance experts at Hoot, said: "This kid knows what he wants, and he's not prepared to let his age get in the way. I expect he'll be looking for cheap car insurance next."

Mike, one of the other eBay bidders in the running for Jack's Nissan, added: "I just hope they re-list that classic car - she's not getting away from me again."
