Toyota create a driver’s dream

Driving costs a packet, there’s no two ways about it.

Road tax, MOT, petrol, car insurance - it all adds up. And that's before you add on the cost of those oh so fantastic inventions like speed cameras, road tolls and congestion charges.

Paying disgustingly crazy prices just to use your car seems a little out of order to me, but luckily the fightback is now on.

It all started a while ago with specialist firms offering cheap prices for young driver car insurance, and nowit looks like the car manufacturers have finally joined the party too.

They may have turned up a little late, but at least they’ve arrived, and this time they’ve brought with them a right cracker of a car.

It's called the Aygo and it comes courtesy of Toyota (with a little bit of help from Peugeot and Citroen). And get this, it'scheap to buy, cheap to run and cheap to insure.

It is, in fact, a 100% absolute pure unadulterated bargain, winner of the Top Gear Car of the Year 2005 and ideal for first-time buyers.

With a top speed of 98mph and a one-litre 67bhp engine, the Aygo is ideal for getting around town but, for such a small car, can more than hold its own on the motorway too. It comes with all the latest mod-cons including speed-sensitive power steering, twin airbags, anti-lock brakes and an MP3-compatible CD player.

Prices start at £6,745, which is a snippet for such a delightful little motor, and it is backed up with a 60,000-mile or three-yearwarranty, meaning that you'll be covered if anything goes wrong.

In terms of motor insurance the Aygo is a dream. All models are classed as car insurance group 1E, which means that you’re not going tofind a cheaper car to insure anywhere. On top of that, dealing with a firm that specialise in young driver car insurance is going to save you even more money.
