Young drivers offered chance to win
cheap car insurance

Young Westcountry drivers are being given the chance to get a cheap car insurance deal in a competition aimed at improving motoring standards.

The Advanced Motorists Group and local Rotary Clubs have teamed up to organise the North Devon Young Driver Competition, with the winner receiving a discount on their next motor insurance premium.

Open to those under the age of 25, the competition will begin with a skid pan challenge at Westpoint, Exeter on 25th March 2006. Entrants will have to demonstrate their control and co-ordination and the best will then be asked to attend the finals at North Devon College on April 17th.

The final will consist of a practical exam as well as question and answer theory tests, and young driver that comes out with the highest score will be rewarded with the cheap car insurance. Other prizes will be available to runners-up and all contestants will receive certificates and promotional t-shirts.

The competition has been organised to help give additional skills to young drivers, with the long-term aim of reducing the huge amount of casualties that occur among Britain's young road users.

For those unable to take part in the event, Mike Page, spokesman for Hoot Car Insurance Services, specialists in young driver car insurance, had the following advice, "You don't need to win this competition to get cheap car insurance as there are so many firms out there offering great prices to young drivers. All you need to do is go online and shop around."
