Young plumber gets a chance at
cheap car insurance

A young man from London may have improved his chances of getting a cheap car insurance deal from a specialist young driver car insurance provider after winning a place on an advanced driving course.

James Chatten was one of six lucky motorists to be successfully nominated for the prize after a competition run by the Bromley Times newspaper.

The 20-year-old plumber was put forward for the competition by his mum, who claims his driving is so bad that she made him write a will as soon as he passed his driving test. Refusing to get in the car with her erratic son, she said, "I would prefer he benefited from my will than me from his. He needs your advanced driving lessons, please help!"

Admitting that his driving is not the best, Mr Chatten told the newspaper that he definitely needs some extra help, admitting he'd been involved in a minor smash only last week.

"I have just lost my two years no claims bonus. I haven't told my mum about the accident yet, but she still doesn't come out in the car with me. She thinks my driving is that bad."

Also among the winners getting a place on the advanced driving course, and slightly less of a motor insurance risk than the young plumber, are a mother of two young children, a journalist and a dance teacher.

A spokesman from Hoot Car Insurance Services, the young driver car insurance experts, commented, "For his mum to make him write a will he must be must be an awful driver. I reckon this course might do him some good."
