Britain's youngest ever drink driver - who was banned from the road at the age of 12 - has been caught beered-up behind the wheel once more.
Now 14, the teen tearaway, who cannot be named for legal reasons, has been told by magistrates that she faces being sent to prison.
The girl was spotted by police officers as she weaved erratically along a busy main road after downing beer and vodka at a friend's house. Breathalysed and found to be well over the drink drive limit, she was promptly arrested and taken into custody.
Appearing at Newbury Magistrates' Court, the teenager pleaded guilty to drink driving, taking her father's car without his consent, driving while disqualified and having no motor insurance. The bench adjourned her case while pre-sentence reports are prepared.
The fourteen-year-old from Berkshire has a long history of offending and has spent time in a young offenders institute for committing a string of booze fuelled crimes. She became the youngest person to be banned for drink driving after stealing her parents' car in 2004, and on that occasion received a two-year ban which is not yet completed.
Mike Page from Hoot Car Insurance Services, specialists in young driver car insurance, said, "It's amazing that anyone of this age actually knows how to drive.
"We provide young driver car insurance, but definitely not for people this young. This girl is going to really struggle to get a cheap car insurance deal in a few years if she does ever pass a test."
