Fiesta to the Verve, Ford's new conceptFord has been taking an interest in female drivers for the past few months, gathering their thoughts on what they really want out of a Ford car. At long last they have come up with what they believe will make the ladies week at the knees - the Ford Verve. This concept car, also known as the 2008/09 Global Ford Fiesta, is due to be revealed at the 2007 Frankfurt Motor show being held from 13th to 23rd September. The Verve is one of three models that are due to be showcased around the world until next January in preparation for the replacement of the Ford Fiesta, a model popular with young drivers throughout the UK not only because it's small and nippy but also because it's regularly eligible for cheap car insurance premiums. Speaking with enthusiasm for the new model, Martin Smith, Ford of Europe's design chief commented: "A new look for the Fiesta meant that we had to look for expressive design, a strong, colourful personality and a look that is fashionable and striking. "Our target group for research, therefore, had to be very design aware and fashion conscious - that means predominantly young women." This is the first small car to follow Ford's kinetic design philosophy which Smith describes as consisting of: "dynamic lines, bold graphics and full surfaces." These are all features which have already been incorporated into the design of the Iosis, Iosis X, Ford Galaxy, S-Max and Mondeo. Smith went on to say: "Bold, even radical, Ford Verve Concept demonstrates the potential of Ford's kinetic design philosophy to visualise a small car that is chic and modern, and one that makes an individual statement for a sophisticated, fashion-aware generation." Word from the young signorinas of Italy that they were longing for a "sprinty" model was the driving-force behind the Verve's design and as featured in a beautiful deep magenta in all the press pictures, it is clear to see that this will most definitely be one to please the ladies. The Verve's bold, sporty and high-tech qualities, particularly the sizeable, inverted trapezoidal lower grille and innovative mobile phone inspired centre console display, have also been noted by male Ford enthusiasts and young men are also looking forward to seeing the new model hit the showrooms. It has been reported that Ford are planning to take the opinions and reactions of their customers very seriously while their designers work head-to-head to create a masterpiece that leads into the next generation of Ford superminis. This is great news for Hoot Car Insurance Services' customers, which consists predominantly of younger drivers, both male and female. But young drivers far and wide may have to hold on just that little bit longer, sometime between 2008 and 2011, as this is just a concept car at the moment and two more will have to be viewed before the design of the Fiesta's replacement is finalised and goes on sale in Europe, Asia and North America. It looks like Ford is going the whole hog at this year's show in Frankfurt, presenting a new look for the already highly acclaimed and very successful Ford Focus and the Kuga SUV Concept as well as the exciting new Ford Verve Concept.
