Although it perhaps has little to do with young driver car insurance, this is a topic which has caused much deliberation amongst the occupants of the Hoot office and is a subject which has caused consternation and strong disagreement, raised eyebrows and raised voices in the search to find the best soft (obviously) drink to have while driving.
It seems there is a difference between the best soft drink for general purpose drinking, and an entirely different best soft drink for driving. While milkshakes, smoothies and cups of tea topped the Hoot office poll for general drinking purposes, as driving drinks, they scored badly due to their tendency to make you feel queasy or their likelihood of making you need to nip to the loo every ten minutes.
So here are the top ten Hoot car insurance best soft drinks for driving:
Number 1
UM BONGO- full of Congo-ey goodness! A bit of a retro classic these days but as it's still, you aren't going to get the hiccups from it which could prove disastrous while driving. I can't help but have a look at their advert every time I think of it.
Number 2
COKE- The all time favourite that nothing really beats but due to the hazardous bubbles it's been burped into second place.
Number 3
RED BULL - Great for keeping you awake on long journeys, but
its sickly sweet flavour prevents it from hitting the number
one spot.
Number 4
DR PEPPER- So misunderstood! Another big favourite that has continued to prove popular among the masses.
Number 5
IRN BRU - This rather sassy looking drink is not just to accompany
haggis neeps and tatties. It deserves to be in the top ten
for its outrageously orange colour alone.
Number 6
MC DONALD'S CHOCOLATE MILKSHAKE - Apparently the best milkshake
ever although I would be concerned about it coming straight
back up on a windy road.
Number 7
TROPICANA ORANGE JUICE (with bits of course) - The best orange
juice available; lovely and refreshing and with enough vitamin
C to rid a pirate ship of scurvy.
Number 8
LILT- Although commonly overlooked, this refreshing little number has a pleasing taste of the tropics which unfortunately is then followed by a slightly odd aftertaste which drops it to number eight.
Number 9
OLD JAMAICA GINGER BEER - I have to be in the right mood for
this stuff and due to the likelihood of choking on its fiery
taste and the difficulty in sourcing it, it drops down to
number nine. However it is good for waking you up and making
you warm and it's supposedly good for settling queasy stomachs
too.
Number 10
FANTA - Although not a fan myself due to its artificial taste,
it must be a petrol station staple for some reason.
So there you have it - a comprehensive top ten of the best driving drinks. Now back to young driver car insurance...
