Young drivers insurance and the perils of Chicken Jalfrezi
As staying in becomes the new going out, ordering takeaways has become more popular which inevitably leads to those hard to budge food stains which unfortunately, can't be claimed on your young drivers insurance. A Chicken Jalfrezi can therefore prove perilous to the pocket of a young motorist.
A survey carried out by the AA found that 43% of those questioned had forked out for a food stain either in their home or in their car and most spent about £100 shifting these stains. With the Indian as England's most favourite take-out, those stains can be hard to shift.
With a couple of DVDs, some drinks and a nice smelling Jalfrezi in the back, your evening looks set to be a winner. However suddenly you take a sharp corner, your curry goes flying and that mango pickle you've been looking forward to seeps its way into your upholstery. Disaster!
Apparently, due to the strong natural dyes that many curries contain, curry stains are one of the hardest stains to shift. No one wants to have a car that smells like a festering tandoori or car seats that look like a dirty tablecloth. Unfortunately though, most car cleaning sprays are unlikely to be of much use. Thankfully the wonderful domestic goddesses that are Kim and Aggy from 'How Clean is Your House?" do have some tips:
Wearing your mum's marigolds, dab a strong solution of detergent into the stain with a cloth before wetting it and rubbing the stain out. If the stain still refuses to go, you could try dabbing on some hydrogen peroxide bleach. Be careful though as this could discolour your upholstery perhaps leaving you with a worse situation then you had with the stain. Perhaps you could cover the stain with a well placed cushion or throw?
Once your stain has been removed (or disguised), you can finally get down to the important part of eating your meal and watching your films or perhaps you want to look for young drivers insurance for a new, curry stain-less car?
