Cheap car insurance quote news

Car insurance firm the AA regrets quotes are no longer that cheap

Accidents involving uninsured drivers could mean the end of cheap car insurance for the rest of us, according to motor insurance firm the AA.

The rising cost of repairs is also blamed for an alarming four percent rise in the price of a typical car insurance premium.

The average fully comprehensive motor insurance quote has risen to £800, while third party, fire and theft premiums - the type favoured by young drivers and those with motoring convictions - are up as far as £1,000.

"If you get involved in an accident with a driver who is not insured, your insurance company has to fork out," said AA man Ian Crowder, explaining why his firm can no longer provide such cheap car insurance.

"We expect another hefty rise next quarter," he added.
