Canadian car insurer finds Librans riskier than young drivers
Forget your age or your postcode - soon car insurance companies everywhere are going to be calculating motor insurance quotes based on your star sign. A study carried out by Canadian firm InsuranceHotline.com showed that key divisions in driver behaviour correlate exactly with their astrological makeup. Lee Romanov, president of the online car insurance firm, started the research as a bit of fun - but when a clear link between motor insurance records and the zodiac started to appear she was forced to take it more seriously. The final study incorporated six years' worth of car insurance records for 100,000 Americans. Romanov, who went on to write a book entitled "Car Carma" on the subject, found star signs were a much better indicator of motor insurance risk than traditional choices like a person's age or address. We're used to car insurance for young drivers being the most expensive, but soon it could be car insurance for Librans - statistically the worst group when it comes to parking tickets and road accidents. It's good news for all the Leos and Geminis currently struggling with the cost of car insurance for young drivers, but a blow to Libras and the other blacklisted signs who might be stuck with pricey motor insurance premiums for life. "I wasn't believing in it before," said Romanov, "but I would think twice before getting into a car with an Aries."
