Taking a Pass Plus course is a great way to cut the price of your first young driver car insurance, and people who do generally save a good deal more on their car insurance premiums than they spend on the extra tuition.
However, the deal is set to get even better for 500 young drivers from Hampshire, who will be offered a place on the Pass Plus scheme for around half it's normal value. The discount is part of a campaign by Hampshire council to cut the staggering number of accidents involving 17- to 24-year-olds on the county's roads.
"We hope that with the extra knowledge we will see the people of these ages become better drivers and hopefully cut the risk of accidents," said Ernie Sage, Hampshire's road safety manager.
Pass Plus, which helps newly qualified drivers with skills like motorway driving and travelling at night, can wipe an estimated 30 percent off your young driver car insurance premiums. The 500 £75 fee discounts offered by Hampshire council are being paid for out of a £35,000 government grant.
