An 18-year-old boy racer from Forfar in Scotland showed no remorse and precious little discretion as he picked up a two-year driving ban for speeding.
William Skea's Citroen Saxo was clocked doing a staggering 131mph outside Dundee.
But rather than apologise unreservedly to the Court like any sensible criminal would, Skea instead bragged to pressmen that he routinely drove at high speed and had taken the Saxo to 153mph in the past.
"I didn't feel out of control," he boasted. "I was just unlucky to get caught."
The Saxo's speedometer, it should be noted, only goes up to 140mph.
Skea's conviction will in all likelihood have doubled the price of his car insurance for young drivers - but of course he has two years to save up for his next quote.
Mike Page, Hoot spokesman and an authority on car insurance for young drivers, said: "I'm no judge, but it sounds like this guy needs a little jail time.
"Still, Skea's car insurance firm won't let him forget this offence any time soon," he added.
