There is bad news for emaciated It girl Nicole Richie - she's been arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol.
The 25-year-old 'The Simple Life' star failed a breathalyser test when she was stopped by cops on California's highway 134 and was promptly incarcerated.
Asked why they tested Richie, the cops said they were responding to emergency phone calls about a black Mercedes (her car) travelling in the wrong direction on the freeway.
Not that it matters to the mega-rich daughter of a multi-platinum crooner (her dad Lionel, as if you didn't know), but we imagine Nicole faces a steep rise in the price of car insurance for young drivers following her arrest.
Mike Page, Hoot spokesperson and an expert on car insurance for young drivers, said: "Looking at her, I can't imagine it would take much alcohol to wipe-out Nicole - but then she is a hardened Hollywood party-goer.
"Regardless, her motor insurance quotes are going to be pretty horrific in future," he added.
