Memorable young driver car insurance quotes for drink driver

A drink driver who claims he doesn't remember leading cops on a police chase has earned himself the kind of young driver car insurance rate you could never forget.

Officers on duty in his home town of Halifax signalled the 22-year-old to stop when they noticed his Ford Fiesta driving erratically. Instead of pulling over, however, the Fiesta sped up - so the officers gave chase in their patrol car.

The pursuit ended when the Fiesta mounted a kerb and stalled. The man was promptly arrested, and found to have nearly double the legal limit of alcohol in his bloodstream.

"I don't really know what happened because I had consumed so much alcohol," said the driver at his court hearing. "All I can say is that I was stupid enough to do it and I am willing to pay the price."

That price amounted to a 16 month driving ban and £170 in fines, £50 of which was for driving without a young driver car insurance policy, and £43 in court costs.

Along with a previous driving conviction from 2002, it's expected that this sentence will have a considerable impact on the price of his future motor insurance premiums.
