Young driver Andy Rogers is recovering after he was pulled from the mangled wreckage of a BMW by firefighters.
Lucky for him the incident won't lead to criminal proceedings, or even affect his car insurance for young drivers - it was all part of a road safety demo put on by Hampshire County Council for students at St Vincent College in Gosport.
Andy's teachers felt he was a natural choice for the show as he'd been involved in a genuine, albeit far less serious rear-ender some weeks before.
Though he probably needed some work done to his car and had to make a motor insurance claim, Andy had escaped that first crash without serious injury.
"It was sobering for him to realise what might have been," said one teacher.
It's hoped raising awareness of road safety issues will cut down the number of crashes involving young people on Hampshire roads - and that could lead to cheaper car insurance for young drivers everywhere.
