Car insurance news
Only the savvy will get cheap car insurance as premiums riseA spokesman for the AA has revealed that UK motor insurance premiums will soon be back on the rise, but that a cheap car insurance deal is always around for those who are prepared to look. According to the AA's British Insurance Premium Index, car insurance quotes in 2006 rose by 6 percent on average - and that trend is expected to continue in 2007. "We do a quarterly survey of insurance premiums, and last year premiums rose," said the firm's public relations manager. "In the first quarter of this year they were predicted to continue to rise - but they flattened. [But] we think they will rise again." Unlike the 'flattened' results of 2007, the last quarter of '06 saw a particularly steep (4.35 percent) swell in premium prices, buoyed-up by large numbers of personal injury claims and the perception of falling road safety standards. It's this kind of increase that's predicted in the next few months. However, a crafty consumer need never miss out on cheap car insurance according to the AA. "For the savvy insurance buyer, there is always a provider willing to offer low premiums to get your business," said the spokesman.
