Budget renews cheap car insurance links

Cheap car insurance provider Budget has renewed deals with two big-name insurance brokers: Marks & Spencer Money and the Post Office. Its partnership with M&S will now run until 2011, and with the Post Office until 2012.

The deals were made through Junction, Budget's subsidiary firm, which also handles clients Bradford & Bingley and the online car insurance firm Yes Insurance.

"Junction has demonstrated a high level of service to M&S and our customers," said a spokesman for the motor insurance broker. "We're now extending that relationship."

Budget has particularly ambitious plans for its partnership with the Post Office. Over the next five years, the cheap car insurance giant is hoping to sell as many as two million motor insurance policies through its partner, the equivalent of £1 billion worth of premiums.

"The extension of the Post Office contract to 2012 is testament to Junction's ability," said Budget's chief executive.

"We have structured a simple, value product tailored to meet the diverse needs of the Post Office's customer base and this has played a vital role in enabling the Post Office to build a strong reputation as an insurance provider."
