It's thought cruel thieves will take advantage of the romantic mood this February 14th by swiping valuables from parked cars across the county, so drivers are being urged to take 'anything not bolted down' out with them. Cheap car insurance firms are also braced for a wave of Valentine's motor insurance claims as couples return to find their sat-navs, car stereos and mobile phones - the three items most commonly stolen from vehicles - have gone missing. "Our advice is to park in well-lit and busy areas and remove absolutely everything from vehicles," said Police Inspector Gail Mulvaney. She added that thieves are likely to target cars left at beauty spots, outside restaurants and all the other favourite haunts of local lovebirds. "It must be tough dating a car thief," mused Mike Page, spokesperson for the cheap car insurance experts at Hoot Car Insurance Services. "They work public holidays, and they're never free for dinner on Valentine's."
