Eco concerns to overtake demand for cheap car insurance

The number of us searching for cheap car insurance could soon be overtaken by the demand for so-called 'green' policies, according to environmental experts. A spokesman for the Environmental Transport Association (ETA) has said that Britain is about to enter a "green bubble", which means that saving the planet will succeed financial concerns as our number one priority.

The market for eco-friendly products, including motor insurance, has remained steady for the past few years, but it's set to expand rapidly in the near future. According to the experts, this is because environmental issues will be a key topic of debate in the run-up to the next UK elections.

"As long as it's high on the political agenda, the growth [of green products and businesses] will be quite steep - after the election growth will probably slow down, but it will continue to go upwards because climate change is in the public consciousness," said the ETA representative.

"Supposedly eco-friendly policies started off in a very niche market, but their green credentials and increasing competitiveness with regular motor insurance in terms of price means we are already seeing a surge in popularity," commented a spokesman for Hoot Car Insurance Services, the cheap car insurance experts.
