Jail for the driver caught 30 times with no insurance

He has 29 convictions for drink driving, 30 for driving with no cheap car insurance and another 30 for driving whilst disqualified.

It's maybe not surprising that the 61-year-old behind this outrageous criminal record has recently been sent back to jail - for his tenth visit.

The man from Eccles, Manchester, has been branded 'Britain's worst drink driver' by the Sun. He earned his first driving ban way back in 1965, and his first drink driving conviction in 1968.

His most recent arrest occurred when Manchester police spotted him hanging out of a car window in March 2007. On that particular occasion he was 1.5 times over the drink drive limit.

"I think it's safe to say that he won't be seeing much in the way of cheap car insurance any time soon," said Mike Page, spokesman for the online car insurance specialists at Hoot.
