Shop around for cheap car insurance and breakdown cover

Tesco's head of insurance has advised drivers to consider a wide range of breakdown cover policies before choosing one to purchase, just as they would with cheap car insurance.

"Many motorists don't realise that car breakdown cover is a highly competitive market," he said. "We would encourage drivers to look . for the best combination of quality and cost in the same way as they do from their car insurance provider."

Tesco Personal Finance is currently offering two months' free cover to anyone who buys one of it's own-brand breakdown policies before 19 June 2007.

"Our motor insurance market is one of the most competitive in the UK, and it's shaping the way many other vehicle-related services are marketed and sold," said a spokesman for the cheap car insurance experts at Hoot Car Insurance Services.
