A road accident involving a council worker from Bexley in London has lead to fresh calls from a cheap car insurance website for the banning of all mobile phone use at the wheel.
Police have confirmed that the 36-year-old man was over the legal alcohol limit and talking on a hands-free mobile when he crashed into a roundabout.
Though the use of hands-free kit has not been outlawed along with regular handheld mobile phones, yesinsurance.co.uk warned that it "could still be a distracting activity" when it covered the story.
According to the site, which provides cheap car insurance along with van and home cover: "Driving while on a mobile phone can risk lives as well as a car insurance policy."
