Vandals spoil Ipswich driver's car and cheap insurance rate

Bad news for the owner of a brand new Audi A4 estate parked on a hill in Ipswich: some vandals have let it run into a wall, ruining the bodywork and most likely your cheap car insurance rate, too.

The £22,000 vehicle was broken into late one night, and the handbrake was let off. It rolled 100 metres downhill before punching a 6 foot square hole in a garden wall.

Fortunately, no pedestrians strayed into the Audi's path.

"Anything coming would have been decimated," said the wall's owner. "If someone had been walking past they probably would have been killed."

"It's sad, but vandals have cost many a driver their cheap car insurance rate," said Mike Page, spokesperson for the online car insurance champions at Hoot.
