LV Group, the name behind Liverpool Victoria, has announced plans to provide cheap car insurance quotes through another subsidiary, ABC Insurance.
Over the next five years, the group expects ABC to grow into a broker network of 1,000 members, with some 300 of these appearing in the next 12 months.
ABC will debut as a business insurance brand, expanding to offer private car insurance policies by July 2007 and other types of motor insurance, including motorbike cover, in 2008.
"ABC has major backing and a highly experienced broker management team," said the firm's chief executive, who aims to attract £300 million of premium income in the following four years.
"Luckily for consumers, the motor insurance boom still shows no sign of letting up," said a spokesman for Hoot Car Insurance Services. "With so many new companies forming, customers are almost spoilt for choice when it comes to cheap car insurance quotes."
