Direct Line is providing young drivers with valuable information to help them secure a cheap car insurance quote.
The motor insurance provider said that one in three young males write off a vehicle in the first year of driving - a high number of accidents that could easily be avoided.
Direct Line believes there are a number of aspects that could reduce a UK motor insurance premium for motorists including buying an older car, using a parent's vehicle or adding themselves to a parent's policy.
A spokesperson for Direct Line said: "Young drivers present a greater risk than experienced drivers, and, as insurance is based on risk, they will pay a higher premium. They are much more likely to have an accident.
The cheap car insurance firm's representative went on to add that young motorists could get a better deal on their motor insurance by gaining a Pass Plus qualification, which could cut their average car insurance premium by as much as £600.
