Courts punish blind young driver with two year ban

Don't let Te Aute Matuakore Collier drive your car - he's blind.

Don't make the same mistake as two of his friends, who chose the sober (but still blind) Collier as their designated driver for a night on the tiles.

It seems hardly necessary to mention that Collier has never held a licence or car insurance for young drivers.

Once his friends were drunk however, it seemed perfectly reasonable to suggest that Collier should take the wheel and drive according to their slurred instructions.

Sadly, the 29-year-old from Hamilton, New Zealand proceeded to drive the car into a supermarket wall.

After his arrest, Collier admitted driving recklessly and was banned for two years - an odd punishment considering his disability precludes him driving at all.

Another man might be anticipating a rise in the price of his car insurance for young drivers, but of course motor insurance quotes don't really concern Collier.

2.If you have comprehensive insurance, a replacement car may be available under the terms of your insurance policy. Please check your policy details for more information.

3.The repairing garage may be able to provide a replacement car. This is subject to availability.
