BMW is a car of choice for many with high salaries

BMW has been voted as one of the most sought after cars on this years "Rich Car List" by swiftcover.com.

Swiftcover.com, the online car insurance provider, looked at 2.7 million motor insurance quotes to find out which cars proved to be the most popular amongst those with high incomes.

Along with BMW, other cars to score highly included Porsche, Mercedes-Benz, Lexus, Saab, Audi, Jeep, Smart and Alfa Romeo.

The top ten cars that made it to the bottom of the rich list included Daewoo, MINI, Rover, Vauxhall, Kia, Fiat, Nissan and Citroen. Nethertheless, all these models of cars are likely to get you a great deal on UK motor insurance.

A spokesperson for Hoot Car Insurance Services, the cheap car insurance provider, said: "Although there are some great cars at the top of the list such as BMW, many of our customers buy the more economical, cheaper options and because of this save a great deal more on their young driver car insurance."
