Car insurance online takes little longer right now

Buying car insurance for young drivers is a major purchase, and in times of recession it is worth taking time over it to make sure you get just the right product.

According to a survey by Swinton of over 1,000 car insurance buyers, for the first time in five years motorists are spending more time searching online before they make that all important "click-to-buy".

Over the last few years the average length of time drivers spent searching for a car insurance quote dropped annually by about five to fifteen minutes.

In 2008, the average search time was one and a half hours, but now, as the UK is gripped by recession, car insurance buyers report that they would happily spend two hours searching in order to find the right deal.

A spokesperson for Hoot, comments, "Your online car insurance premium is an important consideration.

As well as getting the cheapest deal on car insurance for young drivers, motorists should make sure the policy covers all their driving needs."
