Watch what you eat this ChristmasWith many UK drivers due to renew their motor insurance after Christmas, few realise that they could be jeopardising their chances of receiving a cheap car insurance quote by indulging in their decadent Christmas eating habits. Sherry-laced trifles, brandy-soaked Christmas puddings and chocolate liqueurs could all be putting people on the edge of the drink driving limit while at the same time limiting their chances of receiving a cheap car insurance quote in the future. ICM Research conducted a survey of 1,014 adults' eating and drinking habits at Christmas. Worryingly, only one in three of the survey's participants said they were aware of the risks posed by festive food containing alcohol. A spokesperson for esure commented, "Our advice is simple: Avoid alcohol in all forms while driving because a miscalculation could be deadly or cost you your licence. "It may still be in your system when you need to drive either later that day or the following morning."
