Female drivers dream of getting in their cars and heading to the US, a leading woman car insurance website has said.
In a recent survey carried out by CoverGirl Car Insurance, a huge number of young drivers said they would rather take a dream road trip abroad than in the UK.
The survey was part of a national competition that the company launched in a bid to find the new face of woman car insurance. To enter, women had to describe what their perfect road trip would be if they were to go anywhere in the world.
What the competition found was more than just a face for CoverGirl Car Insurance. According to the results, 44% said they would take a journey across America with just 17% opting to stay at home and explore the British countryside.
A total of 20% wanted to travel across Europe and a further 8% wanted to go further afield to Australia. The forms of transport varied from a pink Cadillac to a VW campervan (with insurance), packed with their best mates, boyfriends and Hollywood stars.
A spokesperson for CoverGirl Car Insurance commented on the findings and said: "It was surprising that so many women preferred to travel across America because there are some fantastic places to visit here in the UK.
"Of course, whether it's in the US or the UK, we just want drivers to make sure they're covered by their motor insurance."
