Motorists in North Wales could be making claims on their cheap car insurance policies, after thefts from vehicles in the area are reported to be on the rise.
According to reports from a local newspaper, it appears that while burglaries have dropped in many parts of the country, thieves are still making a buck or two from drivers in Wrexham.
In particular, satellite navigation systems have enticed many opportunist thieves after owners left them on display overnight. Any claim on a UK motor insurance policy may well result in a significant increase in the cost of car insurance quotes in the future.
Detective Sergent Eleri Deverell said: "People need to make sure they don't leave anything of value in the vehicles and don't leave anything in view.
"People just need to be aware, look after their valuables and be careful."
To limit the risk of claiming on your cheap car insurance policy, drivers should ensure that all of their valuables are out of sight, or better still, removed from the vehicle overnight completely.
