LPG cars not cheap enough

With cheap car insurance for young drivers hard to find, motorists are searching for alternative ways to save their cash. Liquid petroleum gas (LPG) cars may be the answer.

Proton, the only car manufacturer offering LPG-ready cars, has announced that LPG cars are the best option for reducing fuel bills and helping the environment.

This announcement comes after GreenCarWebsite.co.uk claimed that many young drivers would consider greener cars if they were less expensive and easier to fuel.

Simon Park, sales director of Proton UK claimed that the cars give car insurance customers "the best of both worlds" as they are more eco-friendly than petrol and diesel engines and cost nearly half the price to run.

Park said that LPG is becoming "increasingly easy to fill up." There are over 1,400 refueling sites around the UK, including motorway service stations and at major supermarkets.

However with purchase costs of around £11,000 young drivers are better off searching for cheaper car insurance deals rather than buying a new car to save money.
