Cheap car insurance for Pass Plus students

Motorists could save even more on their cheap car insurance if they take further courses after passing their driving test, says Norwich Union.

Younger drivers in particular could make a saving on their premium. Courses such as Pass Plus are a great means of lowering premiums as well as encouraging motorists to be safer drivers.

A spokesperson for Norwich Union said: "We have found that young drivers are saving on average a third off their motor insurance premium."

Online motor insurance experts, Hoot Car Insurance Services, said: "Taking a course after passing your driving test is a great way to get cheap car insurance. Plus, anything that reduces the number of road accidents involving new drivers is always going to be a positive thing."

Statistics released earlier by the Department for Transport showed that casualties were down by 4% in the UK compared to 2006.
