Cheap quotes hard to find after driving conviction
Obtaining cheap car insurance for certain young drivers in the Rosemount area of Aberdeen may be difficult in the future after a number of police reports of young driver motoring offences.
Local residents made numerous complaints to police about antisocial behaviour and dangerous driving of teenagers congregating in the area, and a weekend operation was mounted to tackle issues of underage drinking and nuisance.
Police officers spoke to several youths in Denburn car park which resulted in one young driver having his vehicle impounded for driving without valid car insurance and another was given a formal warning as a result of reckless driving.
The police constable who led the operation told local press, "Antisocial behaviour is adversely affecting the quality of life in our local communities and, with our partner agencies, we will continue to address the problems identified by local residents, enforcing the fact that such behaviour will not be tolerated and will be firmly dealt with.
A spokesperson for Hoot, providers of cheap car insurance for young drivers, said, "A driving conviction on your licence will severely affect your car insurance quote."
