Road safety event could lead to cheap car insurance
If young drivers want cheap car insurance, one way of getting it is to build up a no-claims bonus.
Events like the annual Young Driver and Rider event that was held recently at Lakeside Shopping Centre are intended to promote road safety and illustrate safe driving techniques to avoid car accidents.
Organised by Thurrock's Road Safety unit, the free event saw many local companies and agencies, including Essex Police, Essex Fire and Rescue, Driving Standards Agency and motor organisation, RAC, giving their time to help advise young drivers and riders.
Cabinet Member for Highways and Transportation, Councilor Neil Rockliffe said, "Statistics show that drivers aged 17 to 25 years are most at risk of having a road accident and that young females are more at risk of dying as passengers than as drivers."
A spokesperson for Hoot, said, "We provide cheap car insurance quotes for young drivers, and we can make them cheaper if the driver stays accident free each year they drive."
