Cheap car insurance could be gone for dangerous motoristsIf you have found cheap car insurance through online car insurers or a comparison website you may put it in jeopardy if you are a careless or dangerous driver. Recent research from Confused.com has shown that drivers with penalty points can be charged up to 60 per cent more on their car insurance. Even minor infringements can cause an increase of up to £370 a year. Young drivers with points on their licence are likely to pay an even heavier premium of up to 92 per cent increase when renewing their policy. A spokesperson for Confused.com said, "Saving two minutes on your journey time by skipping a red light or driving over the speed limit not only endangers yourself and others around you, but you are risking a large fine, a tarnished licence and potentially higher insurance premiums." A spokesperson for Hoot, cheap car insurance specialists, said, "We pride ourselves on finding the best motor insurance rates for young drivers, but we also advocate safe and responsible driving at all times."
