Cheap car insurance customers told camera installed unlawfully

Motorists living in Bangor, Scotland, have apparently been wrongfully convicted of speeding after it appears that a speed camera was installed unlawfully.

Since the camera was set up, reducing the speed limit from 40mph to 30mph, over 1,936 drivers have received penalty notices.

A local shop owner commented on the camera and said: "I'd been on that road almost daily for 15 years and knew that there was something wrong, that no-one had been aware that the limit was changed.

"I'm a man of principle and decided to fight. I organised public meetings and found a solicitor, who was eventually to prove that the signs were unlawful.

"Arrive Alive had their van their immediately, obviously trying to take advantage of the change. But in the end they were proved wrong."

Any motorist who may have had their cheap car insurance affected as a result of the camera will welcome the news that they may have wrongfully received a penalty notice. As a result, this could affect the cost of their UK motor insurance in the future.
