Cheap car insurance news 19/11/2007
Just how much do we spend on premiums? If UK motorists ever felt that they didn't have enough incentive to look for the best deal on cheap car insurance, they certainly do now. A study by online company comparethemarket.com has revealed that the average British person will spend £90,777 a year on insurance premiums throughout the course of their lifetime. Much of this figure is made up of home insurance and life insurance but, at an average spend of £43 per month, motor insurance tops the list of our spending on premiums. So clearly, receiving a cheap car insurance quote can reap financial benefits over a very long period of time. Another thing the study made clear was the benefits of having an effective cheap car insurance policy. It found that 55% of UK residents had claimed more than £2,500 against their motor insurance policies in the past five years. This figure was more than double the £1000 60% of Brits had claimed back on their home insurance policies. UK motor insurance spokesperson with Hoot, Mike Page, commented, "Reading these figures could be a very depressing experience for many insurance customers in the UK. "And with the lifetime spend on insurance premiums expected to soon hit a six-figure sum, it makes the advantages of going with a cheap car insurance specialist like Hoot all the more significant."
