British drivers try to keep vehicle costs down

Many British motorists have decided that increasing costs of keeping a car running have become too expensive, and they are being driven off the road. However, if they search the internet they may be able to find the cheapest car insurance.

Research undertaken by a large and reputable car insurance company has shown that throughout the past year some 1.3 million road users, including young drivers, have given up their cars because they can simply no longer afford them.

Not only are they reportedly struggling to maintain their vehicle, but the cost of insuring a car has proved to be too much of an expense as well. This could be due to the number of car accident claims that insurance companies have to pay out every year.

The Transport Committee is apparently going to revaluate the growing price of UK car insurance premiums. The committee chair stated, "There is mounting evidence that the insurance industry itself is part of the problem."

British motorists are trying to save as much money as possible, with up to 76% of them admitting to changing habits behind the wheel to keep costs down.

The cost of settling car accident claims which has pushed up the price of many policies may well be a factor which is keeping some British motorists off the road, but a thorough search for the cheapest car insurance quotes could help many road users stay behind the wheel.
