Cheap car insurance news 08/06/2007
Cheapest online car insurance offers a nasty surpriseCheap online car insurance policies could be a false economy for many young drivers, the British Insurance Brokers' Association (BIBA) has warned. According to recent findings, as many as 46 percent of 18 to 24-year-olds choose motor insurance based purely on price, without considering the quality of cover on offer. It means many are left high and dry when a cheap policy falls short of expectations. Most are bought from online car insurance sites, as the net-savvy generation knows they boast the cheapest deals for the sake of a few mouse clicks. According to BIBA, the problem lies in the fact that few younger customers take time to read the small print before clicking 'buy'. "Most brokers have websites that offer choice and quotation facilities accompanied with free advice to consumers (by phone or email) before they press the buy button," said a BIBA spokesman. "This could ensure the correct cover and save young people millions."
